The SPSS license servers are being migrated. If you take out a commuter/network license to use SPSS it will cease to work on the current settings at the end of August. New servers have been put in place and are available now.
At the end of August the old license servers will be turned off. It is therefore imperative that users change their settings before then to ensure an uninterrupted service. Please refer to spss_license_changes.pdf for further information and instructions indicating how to change your settings, with a link to a zipped file to assist you.

Due to changes being made to provide improvements to the service and increase security some people may need to update the configuration of their email client for off-campus use. The most likely scenario is an IMAP setup which will need to have the sending server that is specified changed. For further information and an overview of the changes please see the Summary of Changes

Kaspersky Home Suite is now available free to all RHUL staff and students.
To obtain a copy go to the Kaspersky web site to download a free trial. Download the trial edition of Kaspersky Internet Security Suite v8, from http://www.kaspersky.com/internet_security_trial. This is the full suite, including firewall, and antispyware tools.
Once you have downloaded the software choose the option to activate later. Go to The RHUL Kaspersky Home Activation page to obtain and insert an activation code. [Please note, regarding renewing your licence, that although you will receive warnings about the activation code being due to run out, you can only obtain a new activation code once it has actually expired.]
You will need to sign in with your RHUL computer username and password in order to retrieve a code. Type in "cc\" before your username, e.g. cc\ABCD123.
